While visiting Franny in LA, I reminded her how to knit and we visited two hip new LA knitting stores - Suss Designs and La Knitterie Parisienne - both definitely worth a visit if you find yourself in LaLaLand. We were inspired to devise a number of projects, at least some of which I hope will materialize here soon. But for Franny's first back-to-knitting project we developed the very easy, elegant garden stole at left. It's made from "Cancun" yarn from S. Charles - thin black thread that, when knitted up on big needles (#19), resembles a wrought-iron fence with little dangling nobbies in various shades of green to indicate foliage. We think it's the perfect accessory for the Little Black Dress.
